అత్త

atta

అత్త అంటే భర్త లేదా భార్య తల్లి; కొన్ని కుటుంబాలలో తండ్రి సోదరిని కూడా అత్త అంటారు.

Atta means a mother-in-law, the mother of one's spouse; in many families it also means an aunt, the father's sister.

అర్థాలు Senses

  1. భర్త లేదా భార్య తల్లి.

    A mother-in-law: the mother of one's husband or wife.

    గౌరవంగా అత్తగారు అని కూడా అంటారు.

    • అత్త కోడలికి వంట నేర్పింది. — The mother-in-law taught her daughter-in-law how to cook.

  2. తండ్రి తోబుట్టువైన స్త్రీ; దీనిని మేనత్త అని కూడా అంటారు.

    An aunt on the father's side: the father's sister, also called menatta.

    • సెలవుల్లో అత్త ఇంటికి వెళ్ళాం. — We went to our aunt's house during the holidays.
