కొట్టు

కొట్టు అంటే చేత్తో లేదా ఏదైనా వస్తువుతో దెబ్బ వేయడం; అదే రూపం గల నామవాచకంగా చిన్న దుకాణం అని కూడా అర్థం.

Kottu is the verb to hit or strike; the same spelling is also a noun meaning a small shop.

అర్థాలు Senses

  1. చేత్తో లేదా ఏదైనా వస్తువుతో దెబ్బ వేయడం.

    To hit, beat or strike. In a sentence it changes, for example కొడతాడు (he hits), కొట్టాడు (he hit).

    • నన్ను కొట్టకు. — Do not hit me.
    • ఎవరో తలుపు కొట్టారు. — Someone knocked on the door.

  2. గంట, డప్పు వంటి వాటిని మోగించడం.

    To strike a bell or a drum so that it sounds; to ring.

    • గుడిలో గంట కొట్టారు. — They rang the bell in the temple.

  3. నామవాచకంగా: చిన్న దుకాణం.

    As a noun: a small shop or store.

    ఇది అదే రూపం గల వేరే పదం; క్రియతో సంబంధం లేదు.

    • మా వీధి చివర ఒక చిన్న కొట్టు ఉంది. — There is a small shop at the end of our street.
