నెల అంటే ఒక సంవత్సరంలో పన్నెండో భాగం అయిన కాలం, సుమారు ముప్పై రోజులు; కావ్యభాషలో చంద్రుడు అనే అర్థం కూడా ఉంది.

Nela (with a short e) means a month, about thirty days; in literary language it can also mean the moon.
