కరుణ అంటే ఇతరుల బాధ చూసి మనసు కరిగి, వారికి సహాయం చేయాలనిపించే భావన; సాహిత్యంలో నవరసాలలో ఒక రసం పేరు కూడా.

Karuna means compassion, the tender feeling that makes one want to help someone in distress; in literature it is also the name of one of the nine rasas.
