పాపం అంటే చెడ్డ పని, దోషం; అలాగే జాలి చూపేటప్పుడు వాడే మాట ("అయ్యో పాపం").

Paapam means sin or wrongdoing; the same word is also said to express pity, as in "poor thing".

అర్థాలు Senses

  1. ధర్మానికి విరుద్ధమైన చెడ్డ పని; దోషం.

    Sin or wrongdoing: an act held to be against what is right.

    • ఇతరులను బాధపెట్టడం పాపం అని పెద్దలు అంటారు. — Elders say that hurting others is a sin.

  2. జాలి చూపేటప్పుడు వాడే మాట; అయ్యో.

    Said when feeling pity: "poor thing", "poor fellow".

    ఈ అర్థంలో వాక్యం మొదట్లో వస్తుంది.

    • పాపం, చాలా దూరం నడిచి వచ్చాడు. — Poor fellow, he has walked a long way.
