వ్యాకరణంలో ఒకరా, ఎక్కువ మందా అని తెలిపే భేదం (ఏకవచనం, బహువచనం); అలాగే పద్యం కాని సాధారణ రచన.

In grammar, number (singular or plural); also prose, writing that is not in verse.

అర్థాలు Senses

  1. వ్యాకరణంలో పదం ఒక్కరిని లేదా ఒక్కటిని (ఏకవచనం), ఎక్కువ మందిని లేదా ఎక్కువ వాటిని (బహువచనం) సూచిస్తుందో తెలిపే భేదం.

    Number (grammar): the distinction showing whether a word refers to one person or thing (singular, ఏకవచనం) or to more than one (plural, బహువచనం).

    • అబ్బాయి అనేది ఏకవచనం, అబ్బాయిలు అనేది బహువచనం. — అబ్బాయి is singular and అబ్బాయిలు is plural.

  2. ఛందస్సు నియమాలు లేకుండా మామూలుగా రాసే రచన; గద్యం.

    Prose: writing that is not in verse and does not follow metrical rules.

    • ఈ పుస్తకం పద్యంలో కాకుండా వచనంలో రాసింది. — This book is written in prose, not in verse.
