Mahakavyam (epic poem)
మహాకావ్యం అంటే విస్తృతమైన కథాంశంతో, అనేక భాగాలుగా (తెలుగులో ఆశ్వాసాలుగా) విభజించి రాసిన పెద్ద పద్యకావ్యం. ఇందులో ఉదాత్తమైన కథానాయకుడు, వర్ణనలు ఉంటాయని సంప్రదాయ అలంకార శాస్త్రం చెబుతుంది.
A mahakavyam is a long narrative poem on a broad theme, divided into many sections (in Telugu, ashvasams). Classical poetics describes it as having a noble hero and elaborate descriptions.
నిర్వచనం Definition
మహాకావ్యం సంస్కృత కావ్య సంప్రదాయం నుంచి వచ్చిన ఒక రూపం. పెద్ద కథను అనేక భాగాలుగా చెప్పే పద్యకావ్యాన్ని ఈ పేరుతో పిలుస్తారు.
The mahakavyam is a form that comes from the Sanskrit kavya tradition: a long verse narrative told in many sections.
లక్షణాలు Characteristics
సంప్రదాయ లక్షణాల్లో సాధారణంగా చెప్పేవి: ఉదాత్త నాయకుడు, నగరం, ప్రకృతి వంటి వర్ణనలు, విభాగాలుగా విభజన (సంస్కృతంలో సర్గలు, తెలుగులో ఆశ్వాసాలు).
Features usually listed in the classical tradition include a noble hero, descriptions of cities and nature, and division into sections (sargas in Sanskrit, ashvasams in Telugu).
