పద్యం అంటే ఛందస్సు నియమాలకు లోబడి, పాదాలుగా విభజించి రాసే కవిత.

Padyam means a verse: a poem composed in lines (padas) according to the rules of metre (chandassu).

అర్థాలు Senses

  1. ఛందస్సు నియమాలకు, అంటే గణాలు, యతి, ప్రాస వంటి నియమాలకు లోబడి, పాదాలుగా విభజించి రాసే కవిత.

    Verse: a poem written in lines (padas) that follows the rules of metre, such as the arrangement of syllable groups (gana), yati and prasa. It is contrasted with prose (vachanam).

    Telugu padyas are traditionally recited or sung with a tune. Each type of padyam (such as champakamala or utpalamala) has its own pattern.

    • ఉపాధ్యాయుడు ఒక పద్యాన్ని రాగంతో చదివి వినిపించాడు. — The teacher read out a verse in a tune.
    • ఈ పద్యంలో నాలుగు పాదాలు ఉన్నాయి. — This verse has four lines.
