గేయం అంటే పాడటానికి వీలుగా లయతో రాసిన కవిత. సంప్రదాయ పద్య ఛందస్సుకు బదులు పాట వంటి లయ ఆధారంగా సాగే రచనలను తెలుగులో సాధారణంగా గేయాలు అంటారు.
A geyam is a poem written with rhythm so that it can be sung. In Telugu the word is commonly used for songs and song-like poems that rely on rhythm rather than on the classical verse metres.

గేయం అంటే గానం చేయడానికి అనువైన, లయతో కూడిన కవితా రూపం. పల్లవి, చరణాలు వంటి నిర్మాణం ఉన్న పాటలు ఈ రూపానికి సాధారణ ఉదాహరణలు.
A geyam is a rhythmic poetic form suited to singing. Songs built from a refrain (pallavi) and stanzas (charanalu) are typical examples.
