వచనం
Vachanam (prose)
వచనం అంటే ఛందస్సుకు కట్టుబడకుండా, సాధారణ వాక్యాలలో రాసిన రచన. కథ, నవల, వ్యాసం వంటి రూపాలు వచన సాహిత్యంలోకి వస్తాయి.
Vachanam is prose: writing in ordinary sentences that does not follow the rules of metre. Forms such as the story, the novel and the essay belong to prose literature.
నిర్వచనం Definition
వచనం అంటే పద్యంలా ఛందస్సు నియమాలు లేకుండా, వాక్యాలుగా సాగే రచన. పద్యానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా దీన్ని సాధారణంగా చెబుతారు.
Vachanam is writing that runs in sentences without the metrical rules of padyam (verse). It is usually described in contrast to verse.
లక్షణాలు Characteristics
కథ, నవల, వ్యాసం, నాటక సంభాషణలు, ఆత్మకథ, జీవితచరిత్ర వంటి అనేక రూపాలు వచనంలో ఉంటాయి. కొన్ని పాత కావ్యాల్లో పద్యాల మధ్య వచన భాగాలు కూడా కనిపిస్తాయి.
Many forms are written in prose: the story, novel, essay, dramatic dialogue, autobiography and biography. Some older kavyas also contain prose passages between the verses.
