Adbhuta rasa (the wondrous sentiment)

అద్భుతం నవరసాలలో ఒకటి; దీని స్థాయిభావం విస్మయం, అంటే ఆశ్చర్యం. లోకంలో అసాధారణమైన, మహిమాన్వితమైన, ఊహకు అందని విషయాలను వర్ణించే సందర్భాలలో ఇది కనిపిస్తుంది.

Adbhuta is one of the nine rasas; its sthayibhava is vismaya, wonder or astonishment. It appears when something extraordinary, marvellous or beyond imagination is described.

నిర్వచనం Definition

అద్భుత రసానికి స్థాయిభావం విస్మయం. అసాధారణమైన సంఘటనలు, అపూర్వమైన దృశ్యాలు, దైవిక శక్తులు, మాయ వంటి విభావాల వల్ల ఆశ్చర్యం కలుగుతుంది. కళ్లు విప్పార్చడం, నోట మాట రాకపోవడం, పులకరించడం, ఆనందబాష్పాలు వంటి చేష్టలు ఇందులో అనుభావాలుగా చెబుతారు.

The sthayibhava of adbhuta rasa is vismaya. Wonder is aroused by such determinants as extraordinary events, unprecedented sights, divine powers and magic. Wide-open eyes, being speechless, a thrill of the skin and tears of joy are given as its outward signs (anubhavas).

ఉపయోగం Where it is used

పౌరాణిక, ఇతిహాస కథలలోని దివ్య సంఘటనల వర్ణనలలో, మాయాజాల కథలలో, ప్రకృతి లేదా నగరాల అపూర్వ వైభవ వర్ణనలలో అద్భుతం కనిపిస్తుంది. భక్తి రచనలలో దేవుని మహిమను చూసి కలిగే ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని చెప్పడానికి కూడా ఇది వాడతారు.

Adbhuta appears in descriptions of divine events in mythological and epic stories, in tales of magic, and in descriptions of the unusual splendour of nature or cities. It is also used in devotional writing to convey the wonder felt at the glory of God.
