Bibhatsa rasa (the odious sentiment)

బీభత్సం నవరసాలలో ఒకటి; దీని స్థాయిభావం జుగుప్స, అంటే అసహ్యం, విరక్తి. అసహ్యకరమైన దృశ్యాలను వర్ణించే సందర్భాలలో ఇది కనిపిస్తుంది.

Bibhatsa is one of the nine rasas; its sthayibhava is jugupsa, disgust or aversion. It appears when loathsome sights are described.

నిర్వచనం Definition

బీభత్స రసానికి స్థాయిభావం జుగుప్స. అసహ్యకరమైన, జుగుప్సాకరమైన దృశ్యాలు, వాసనలు, పరిస్థితులు చూసినప్పుడు కలిగే అసహ్యం, ముఖం చిట్లించడం, వెనక్కి తగ్గడం వంటి చేష్టలు ఇందులో ప్రధానం.

The sthayibhava of bibhatsa rasa is jugupsa. The feeling of disgust on seeing or smelling loathsome things or situations, together with signs such as wrinkling the face and turning away, is central to it.

ఉపయోగం Where it is used

యుద్ధభూమి వర్ణనలలో, శ్మశాన, క్షామ వర్ణనలలో, భయంకర దృశ్యాలలో బీభత్సం కనిపిస్తుంది. కొన్నిసార్లు ప్రతికూల పాత్రల ప్రవర్తనపై పాఠకునిలో అసహ్యం కలిగించడానికి కూడా కవులు దీనిని వాడతారు.

Bibhatsa appears in descriptions of the battlefield, of cremation grounds and of famine, and in horrifying scenes. Poets sometimes also use it to make the reader feel revulsion at the conduct of a negative character.
