Madhyayuga sahityam (medieval literature)
మధ్యయుగ సాహిత్యం అనే పదాన్ని కొందరు ప్రాచీన, ఆధునిక యుగాల మధ్య కాలపు తెలుగు సాహిత్యానికి వాడతారు. తెలుగులో ఈ పదం వాడకం, కాల పరిధి గ్రంథాన్ని బట్టి మారుతుంది.
The term madhyayuga sahityam is used by some for Telugu literature of the time between the ancient and the modern ages. Its use and time range in Telugu vary from book to book.
నిర్వచనం Definition
సాహిత్య చరిత్రను ప్రాచీన, మధ్య, ఆధునిక అనే మూడు భాగాలుగా చూడడం ఒక పద్ధతి; ఈ పద్ధతిలో మధ్య భాగాన్ని మధ్యయుగ సాహిత్యం అంటారు. తెలుగులో చాలా సాహిత్య చరిత్రలు ఈ పదాన్ని వాడకుండా, రాజవంశాలు లేదా రచనా లక్షణాల ఆధారంగా పేరు పెట్టిన యుగాలుగా (ఉదాహరణకు ప్రబంధ యుగం) విభజిస్తాయని చెబుతారు (సరిచూడాలి).
One way of viewing literary history is in three parts: ancient, medieval and modern; in this scheme the middle part is called medieval literature. Many Telugu literary histories are said not to use this term and instead divide time into ages named after dynasties or features of the writing (for example the prabandha age) (subject to verification).

The trends usually mentioned for the time called medieval vary with the scheme used. Often mentioned are prabandha writing and devotional kirtanas (subject to verification).

ఈ కాలం ఎప్పుడు మొదలై ఎప్పుడు ముగుస్తుందో ఇక్కడ నిర్ణయించలేదు; ప్రాచీన సాహిత్యంతో దీనికి అతివ్యాప్తి ఉంది. ఏ కాలవిభజనను అనుసరించాలో పండితులను బట్టి మారుతుంది, ఆ విభజనను ఆధారంతో చూపాల్సి ఉంది. అదే రచనను ఒక విభజనలో ప్రాచీనం, మరొక దానిలో మధ్యయుగం అనవచ్చు; ఉదాహరణలు సూచనగా మాత్రమే.
