ఆధునిక సాహిత్యం అంటే 19వ శతాబ్దంలో వచ్చిన మార్పుల తర్వాతి తెలుగు సాహిత్య యుగం. అచ్చుపుస్తకాలు, వచన ప్రక్రియలు, సామాజిక చైతన్యం దీని లక్షణాలుగా చెబుతారు.
Adhunika sahityam is the age of Telugu literature that followed the changes of the 19th century. Printed books, prose forms and social awareness are said to mark it.

Features often mentioned: the growth of prose forms such as the novel, the short story, the modern play and the essay; a social-reform outlook; the movement to use everyday language in literature; and new poetic trends such as Bhavakavitvam and progressive poetry (subject to verification).

This is a division of time. The trend called modernism (adhunikavada) is different; it is only one literary outlook within the modern age. Scholars may divide periods differently, and the division followed must be shown with a source. This page gives no writers' names or exact dates.
