Adhunikavada sahityam is the modernist trend, which centres on experiment, the inner experience of the individual and doubt. It is different from "adhunika sahityam", which names a period (subject to verification).

ఆధునికవాదం (మాడర్నిజం) అనేది ఇంగ్లీషు మొదలైన భాషల్లో 20వ శతాబ్ది తొలి భాగంలో బలపడిన సాహిత్య ధోరణి; సంప్రదాయ రూపాలను విడిచి ప్రయోగాలు చేయడం, వ్యక్తి అంతరంగాన్ని, ఒంటరితనాన్ని, సందేహాన్ని చిత్రించడం దీనిలో కనిపిస్తాయి. తెలుగులో ఈ పదాన్ని వేర్వేరు అర్థాల్లో వాడతారు (సరిచూడాలి).
Modernism (adhunikavada) is a literary trend that grew strong in languages such as English in the first half of the 20th century; it shows experiment beyond traditional forms and the portrayal of the individual's inner life, loneliness and doubt. In Telugu the term is used in different senses (subject to verification).
లక్షణాలు How to recognise it
తరచు చెప్పే లక్షణాలు: రూప ప్రయోగాలు, చైతన్య స్రవంతి శైలి, ప్రతీకలు, అస్పష్టత, వ్యక్తి పరాయీకరణ భావన. అన్ని రచనల్లో ఇవన్నీ ఉంటాయని కాదు.
Features often mentioned: formal experiment, a stream-of-consciousness style, symbols, ambiguity, and a sense of the individual's alienation. Not every work shows all of these.
