ప్రాంతీయ సాహిత్యం అంటే రచనలను ప్రాంతం ఆధారంగా చూసే దృష్టి: కోస్తా, రాయలసీమ, తెలంగాణ వంటి ప్రాంతాల భాష, జీవితం రచనల్లో ఎలా కనిపిస్తాయో చూడడం.
Pranteeya sahityam is a way of viewing writing by region: looking at how the speech and life of areas such as the coast, Rayalaseema and Telangana appear in works.
నిర్వచనం Definition
ప్రాంతీయ సాహిత్యం అనే పదానికి రెండు అర్థాలు వాడుకలో ఉన్నాయి: (1) తెలుగు ప్రాంతాల్లో ఒక్కో ప్రాంతం (ఉదాహరణకు కోస్తా ఆంధ్ర, రాయలసీమ, తెలంగాణ, ఉత్తరాంధ్ర) భాష, జీవితం, చరిత్ర ప్రతిబింబించే రచనలు; (2) దేశ స్థాయిలో ప్రాంతీయ భాషా సాహిత్యం అనే అర్థంలో తెలుగు సాహిత్యమే ఒక ప్రాంతీయ భాషా సాహిత్యం. ఈ పేజీ మొదటి అర్థాన్ని తీసుకుంటుంది (సరిచూడాలి).
The term has two senses in use: (1) writing that reflects the speech, life and history of one area within the Telugu-speaking regions (for example coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Uttarandhra); (2) at the national level, regional-language literature, in which Telugu literature is itself a regional-language literature. This page takes the first sense (subject to verification).
లక్షణాలు How to recognise it
గుర్తించే లక్షణాలు: ఆ ప్రాంతపు మాండలికం, స్థల వర్ణనలు, స్థానిక ఆచారాలు, ప్రాంతీయ చరిత్ర, సామాజిక జీవితం. అన్ని రచనల్లో ఇవన్నీ ఉంటాయని కాదు.
Signs to look for: the dialect of the area, descriptions of places, local customs, regional history and social life. Not every work shows all of these.

ఇది ప్రాంతం ఆధారంగా చూసే దృష్టి మాత్రమే. ప్రాంత సరిహద్దులే తెలుగు సాంస్కృతిక భౌగోళికాన్ని పూర్తిగా చెప్పవు (తెలుగు మాట్లాడే ఇతర ప్రాంతాలు, ప్రవాస తెలుగువారు కూడా ఉన్నారు). ఏ ప్రాంతాలను, ఏ ప్రమాణాలతో విభజించాలనేది పండితులు నిర్ణయించాల్సి ఉంది; ఇక్కడ ఏ రచయితనూ ఒక ప్రాంతానికి పరిమితం చేయలేదు.
This is only a way of viewing by region. Regional boundaries alone do not describe the whole of Telugu cultural geography (there are other Telugu-speaking areas and Telugu people abroad). Which regions to use, and by what criteria, remains for scholars to decide; no writer is confined to one region here.
