Rajaneeti sahityam (writing on statecraft)
రాజనీతి సాహిత్యం అంటే రాజు ధర్మం, పాలన, దౌత్యం వంటి విషయాలను చెప్పే రచనలు. ఈ విషయాలు ప్రత్యేక గ్రంథాల్లో, కావ్యాల్లోని భాగాలుగా, కథల రూపంలో కనిపిస్తాయి.
Rajaneeti sahityam is writing on a ruler's duty, governance and diplomacy. These matters appear in separate treatises, as parts of kavyas, and in tales.
నిర్వచనం Definition
రాజనీతి అంటే పాలనకు సంబంధించిన నీతి: రాజు ఎలా పాలించాలి, మంత్రులు, సైన్యం, ప్రజల పట్ల బాధ్యత, ఇతర రాజులతో వ్యవహారం వంటివి. ఈ విషయాలను చెప్పే రచనలను రాజనీతి సాహిత్యం అనవచ్చు.
Rajaneeti means the ethics of governance: how a king should rule, ministers, the army, duty towards subjects, and dealings with other kings. Writing that treats these matters can be called rajaneeti sahityam.
లక్షణాలు How to recognise it
ఈ విషయాలు కొన్నిసార్లు ప్రత్యేక గ్రంథాల్లో, కొన్నిసార్లు కావ్యాలు, ఇతిహాసాల్లో ఒక భాగంగా, కొన్నిసార్లు కథల రూపంలో (పంచతంత్రం వంటివి) చెప్పబడతాయి. పాలకులకు ఉపదేశం, ఉదాహరణ కథలు, కర్తవ్య నిర్దేశం సాధారణ లక్షణాలు.
These matters are sometimes told in separate treatises, sometimes as a part of a kavya or an epic, and sometimes in the form of tales (as in the Panchatantra). Advice to rulers, illustrative stories and statements of duty are common features.

కింద పేర్కొన్న చాలా రచనల్లో రాజనీతి ఒక భాగం మాత్రమే. ఉదాహరణకు అముక్తమాల్యదలో రాజనీతి చర్చ ఉందని, భారతంలోని శాంతి పర్వంలో రాజధర్మ చర్చ ఉందని చెబుతారు (సరిచూడాలి). ఇది ఇతివృత్త దృష్టి మాత్రమే; నీతి సాహిత్యంతో దగ్గరి సంబంధం ఉంది.
In most of the works named below, rajaneeti is only a part. For example, Amuktamalyada is said to contain a discussion of statecraft and the Shanti Parva of the Mahabharata a discussion of a ruler's duties (subject to verification). This is an editorial thematic lens only; it is closely related to ethical writing.

- సకలనీతి సమ్మతము — నడవడి, లోకవ్యవహారం గురించిన రచన; రాజనీతికి సంబంధం ఉండే అవకాశం ఉంది (సరిచూడాలి).
- నీతిచంద్రిక — పంచతంత్ర కథల ఆధారంగా రాసిన వచన రచన; ఆ కథలు పాలనా నీతిని చెప్పే సంప్రదాయానికి చెందినవి.
- ఆముక్తమాల్యద — ఇందులో రాజనీతి చర్చ ఉందని చెబుతారు (సరిచూడాలి).
- ఆంధ్ర మహాభారతం — శాంతి పర్వంలో రాజధర్మ చర్చ ఉందని చెబుతారు (సరిచూడాలి).
