విరహ సాహిత్యం అంటే ప్రియమైనవారి ఎడబాటు వల్ల కలిగే వేదనను, ఎదురుచూపును ప్రధానంగా చెప్పే రచనలు. భక్తి కవిత్వంలో భక్తుడు దైవాన్ని కోరే తపనగా కూడా ఇది కనిపిస్తుంది.
Viraha sahityam is writing centred on the pain and longing of separation from a loved one. In devotional poetry it can also appear as the longing of a devotee for the deity.
నిర్వచనం Definition
విరహం అంటే ప్రియుడు లేదా ప్రియురాలు దూరమైనప్పుడు కలిగే బాధ, తపన. ఈ భావం ప్రధానంగా ఉన్న రచనలను విరహ సాహిత్యం అనవచ్చు. కావ్యశాస్త్రంలో ఈ భావం శృంగార రసంలోని ఒక పార్శ్వంగా (విప్రలంభ శృంగారం) చెప్పబడుతుంది.
Viraha is the pain and longing felt when a lover is far away. Writing in which this feeling is central can be called viraha sahityam. In poetics this feeling is treated as one side of the sringara rasa (vipralambha sringara).
లక్షణాలు How to recognise it
తరచు కనిపించేవి: ఎదురుచూపు, ఒంటరితనం, గుర్తుచేసుకోవడం, ఋతువులు, వెన్నెల, మేఘాలు వంటి ప్రకృతిని ఈ భావానికి నేపథ్యంగా వాడడం, సందేశం పంపడం అనే ఇతివృత్తం. ఇది ప్రేమికుల విరహంగానే కాకుండా, భక్తిలో దైవాన్ని కోరే తపనగా కూడా వ్యక్తమవుతుంది (సరిచూడాలి).
Often seen: waiting, loneliness, remembering, nature (seasons, moonlight, clouds) used as a backdrop to the feeling, and the theme of sending a message. It appears not only as the separation of lovers but also, in devotion, as longing for the deity (subject to verification).
