నిర్వచనం Definition

అనుకరణం అంటే అనుకరించడం. వినిపించే శబ్దాన్ని లేదా చూసే తీరును అనుకరిస్తూ ఏర్పడిన పదాలను అనుకరణ పదాలు అంటారు. ఇవి సాధారణంగా అర్థం కంటే ధ్వని ద్వారా భావాన్ని తెలియజేస్తాయి.

Anukaranam means imitation. Words formed by imitating a sound that is heard, or a manner that is seen, are called anukarana padalu. They convey the idea through sound more than through a separate meaning.

గమనికలు Notes

How these words are divided into kinds, and the names for the kinds, differ by book, so no names are given here (subject to verification). They are sometimes followed by a particle such as -mani and then qualify a verb; textbooks cover this.
