పదభేదాలు అంటే పదాల రకాలు. వాక్యంలో ఒక పదం ఏ పని చేస్తుందో (పేరు చెప్పడమా, పేరుకు బదులు రావడమా, పని చెప్పడమా, విశేషం చెప్పడమా) దాన్ని బట్టి పదాలను వర్గాలుగా విభజిస్తారు. ఇది ఇంగ్లీషులో parts of speech అనే అంశానికి దగ్గరగా ఉంటుంది.

Padabhedalu means the kinds of words. Words are divided into classes by the work they do in a sentence: naming, standing for a name, telling an action, giving a further detail. This is close to the topic called parts of speech in English.

పాఠశాల వ్యాకరణంలో సాధారణంగా చెప్పే వర్గాలు:

నామవాచకం: పేరును తెలిపేది.

సర్వనామం: నామవాచకానికి బదులు వాడేది.

విశేషణం: నామవాచకం గుణాన్ని తెలిపేది.

క్రియ: పనిని తెలిపేది.

క్రియా విశేషణం: క్రియ గురించి విశేషం తెలిపేది.

అవ్యయం: రూపం మారని పదం.

The classes usually named in school grammar are:

Namavachakam (noun): names something.

Sarvanamam (pronoun): stands in place of a noun.

Visheshanam (adjective): tells a quality of a noun.

Kriya (verb): tells an action.

Kriya visheshanam (adverb): tells a detail about the verb.

Avyayam (indeclinable): a word whose form does not change.

గమనికలు Notes

సంప్రదాయ వ్యాకరణ గ్రంథాల వర్గీకరణ, ఆధునిక పాఠ్యపుస్తకాల వర్గీకరణ ఒకేలా ఉండవు. పాత గ్రంథాల్లో పదాల రకాలను తక్కువ వర్గాలుగా చెప్పడం, ఆధునిక పుస్తకాల్లో ఇంగ్లీషు వ్యాకరణ ప్రభావంతో ఎక్కువ వర్గాలుగా చెప్పడం కనిపిస్తుంది (గ్రంథాన్ని బట్టి తేడా; సరిచూడాలి). అందుకే పైన ఇచ్చినది ఒక సాధారణ రూపం మాత్రమే, ఏకైక సరైన విభజన కాదు.

సంఖ్యావాచకాలు, పర్యాయ పదాలు వంటి అంశాలు ఈ విభాగంలో ఉన్నా అవి వేరే రకం పాఠాలు: అవి పదం యొక్క అర్థం, ఏర్పాటు గురించి చెబుతాయి.

The classification in traditional grammar books and in modern textbooks is not the same. Older books tend to name fewer classes of words; modern textbooks, under the influence of English grammar, name more (books differ; subject to verification). So the list above is one common form and not the only correct division.
