నిర్వచనం Definition

నామవాచకం అంటే వ్యక్తి, వస్తువు, ప్రదేశం, జంతువు, గుణం, భావం వంటి వాటి పేరును తెలిపే పదం. ఉదాహరణకు రాముడు (వ్యక్తి), నది (వస్తువు), ఆనందం (భావం).

పాఠ్యపుస్తకాల్లో నామవాచకాలను వేర్వేరు విధాలుగా వర్గీకరిస్తారు, ఉదాహరణకు ఒక ప్రత్యేక వ్యక్తి లేదా స్థలం పేరు, ఒక జాతి మొత్తానికి వర్తించే పేరు, భావాన్ని చెప్పే పేరు అని. పేర్లు, విభజనలు గ్రంథాన్ని బట్టి మారతాయి.

A namavachakam (noun) is a word that names a person, thing, place, animal, quality or idea. Examples: ramudu (a person), nadi ("river", a thing), anandam ("joy", a feeling).

Textbooks classify nouns in different ways, for example into the name of one particular person or place, the name of a whole class of things, and the name of a feeling or idea. The terms and divisions vary by book.

ఉపయోగం Where it is used

వాక్యంలో నామవాచకం ఎక్కువగా కర్తగా, కర్మగా లేదా ఇతర విభక్తి సంబంధంతో ఉంటుంది. అందుకే నామవాచకం విభక్తులు (విభక్తి), లింగం, వచనం అనే అంశాలతో కలిపి నేర్చుకుంటారు. నామవాచకం గురించిన విశేషాలను తెలిపే పదాలను విశేషణాలు అంటారు; నామవాచకం బదులు వాడే పదం సర్వనామం.

సంప్రదాయ వ్యాకరణ గ్రంథాల్లో నామవాచకాలను వాటి చివరి అక్షరాన్ని బట్టి (అచ్చుతో ముగిసేవి, హల్లుతో ముగిసేవి) వర్గీకరించి, ప్రతి వర్గానికి విభక్తి రూపాలను చూపిస్తారు.

In a sentence a noun is mostly the subject, the object, or stands in some other case relation. This is why nouns are learned together with case (vibhakti), gender and number. Words that tell about a noun are adjectives (visheshanalu); a word used in place of a noun is a pronoun (sarvanamam).

Traditional grammar books often group nouns by their final sound (those ending in a vowel and those ending in a consonant) and show the case forms for each group.
