నిర్వచనం Definition

నామవాచకానికి 'ఇంచు' అనే భాగం చేరడం వల్ల ఏర్పడే క్రియా ధాతువులను నామధాతువులు అంటారు (నామం = పేరు పదం, ధాతువు = క్రియ మూలం). వీటి నుంచి మిగతా క్రియా రూపాలు మామూలుగా ఏర్పడతాయి.

Verb roots made by adding the part "inchu" to a noun are called namadhatuvulu (nama = the name word, dhatuvu = the verb root). The other verb forms are then made from them in the usual way.

ప్రేమ → ప్రేమించు: ఆమె అతన్ని ప్రేమించింది.

గౌరవం → గౌరవించు: పెద్దలను గౌరవించాలి.

సంతోషం → సంతోషించు: అతడు సంతోషించాడు.

ఆలోచన → ఆలోచించు: ఆమె ఆలోచించింది.

గుర్తించే పద్ధతి: క్రియ నుంచి 'ఇంచు' ను తీసివేస్తే మిగిలేది ఒక నామవాచకంలా అర్థం ఇస్తుంటే అది నామధాతువు (కొన్నిసార్లు నామవాచకం చివరి అచ్చు కొద్దిగా మారుతుంది).

prema to preminchu: ame atanni preminchindi. (She loved him.)

gauravam to gauravinchu: peddalanu gauravinchali. (Elders should be respected.)

santosham to santoshinchu: atadu santoshinchadu. (He rejoiced.)

alochana to alochinchu: ame alochinchindi. (She thought.)

How to recognise it: if the part left after taking away "inchu" reads like a noun, the verb is a namadhatuvu (sometimes the final vowel of the noun changes a little).

'నామధాతువు' అనే పేరు, దాని పరిధి పాఠ్యపుస్తకాన్ని బట్టి మారవచ్చు (సరిచూడాలి). ఈ రకం క్రియలు ఎక్కువగా సంస్కృత మూలమైన నామవాచకాల నుంచి ఏర్పడతాయని సాధారణంగా చెబుతారు; తెలుగు పదాల నుంచి ఏర్పడేవి ఇక్కడ చర్చించలేదు.

The name "namadhatuvu" and its range may differ by textbook (subject to verification). Such verbs are generally said to be formed mostly from nouns of Sanskrit origin; those formed from Telugu words are not discussed here.
