నిర్వచనం Definition

వాక్యంలో ప్రధానమైన పనిని ఒక క్రియ చెప్పగా, దాని వెంట వచ్చి ఆ పనికి ఒక అదనపు భావాన్ని చేర్చే క్రియను సహాయక క్రియ అంటారు. మొదటి క్రియ సాధారణంగా అసమాపక రూపంలో (క్త్వార్థకం వంటిది) ఉండి, సహాయక క్రియ వాక్యాన్ని ముగిస్తుంది.

When one verb states the main action, a verb that follows it and adds a further sense to that action is called a sahayaka kriya. The first verb is usually in a non-finite form (such as the ktvartham), and the sahayaka kriya closes the sentence.

వెళ్ళిపోయాడు = వెళ్ళి + పోయాడు: 'పోవు' పని పూర్తయి, ముగిసిందనే భావాన్ని ఇస్తుంది.

రాసి ఇచ్చాడు = రాసి + ఇచ్చాడు: 'ఇచ్చు' పని ఇతరుల కోసం చేశారనే భావాన్ని ఇస్తుంది.

చేసుకున్నాడు = చేసి + కొన్నాడు: 'కొను' పని తన కోసం చేసుకున్నారనే భావాన్ని ఇస్తుంది.

చదువుతూ ఉన్నాడు = చదువుతూ + ఉన్నాడు: 'ఉండు' పని జరుగుతూ ఉన్న స్థితిని ఇస్తుంది.

గుర్తించే పద్ధతి: రెండో క్రియను తీసివేసినా మొదటి క్రియ ప్రధానమైన పనిని చెబుతూనే ఉంటే, రెండోది సహాయక క్రియ.

vellipoyadu = velli + poyadu: "povu" gives the sense that the action is complete and over.

rasi ichchadu = rasi + ichchadu: "ichchu" gives the sense that the action was done for others.

chesukunnadu = chesi + konnadu: "konu" gives the sense that the action was done for oneself.

chaduvutu unnadu = chaduvutu + unnadu: "undu" gives the state of the action going on.

How to recognise it: if the first verb still tells the main action when the second is taken away, the second is a sahayaka kriya.
