నిర్వచనం Definition

సమాపక క్రియ అంటే వాక్యాన్ని పూర్తి చేసే క్రియ. దీనిలో ధాతువుకు కాల, పురుష, వచన సూచక ప్రత్యయాలు చేరి ఉంటాయి, కాబట్టి ఎవరు ఎప్పుడు చేశారో ఇది చెబుతుంది.

A samapaka kriya is a verb that completes the sentence. The root carries endings for tense, person and number, so the verb says who did the action and when.

అతడు చదివాడు. (చదివాడు: భూతకాలం, ప్రథమ పురుష, పుంలింగ ఏకవచనం.)

ఆమె పాడింది.

వారు వచ్చారు.

ఒక వాక్యంలో ఎన్ని క్రియలున్నా సాధారణంగా చివరి క్రియే సమాపక క్రియ: అతడు వచ్చి కూర్చున్నాడు. ఇక్కడ 'వచ్చి' అసమాపక క్రియ, 'కూర్చున్నాడు' సమాపక క్రియ.

atadu chadivadu. (chadivadu: past tense, third person, masculine singular.)

ame padindi. (She sang.)

varu vachcharu. (They came.)

However many verbs a sentence has, the last one is usually the samapaka: atadu vachchi kurchunnadu. Here "vachchi" is asamapaka and "kurchunnadu" is samapaka.

గమనికలు Notes

This is a textbook-level account. Some books also count command forms (chaduvu, chadavandi) as samapaka verbs since they close the sentence, although they carry no tense (subject to verification).
