నిర్వచనం Definition

అనునాసికాలు అంటే ముక్కు సాయంతో పలికే హల్లులు: ఙ, ఞ, ణ, న, మ. ఐదు వర్గాల్లో (క-వర్గం నుంచి ప-వర్గం వరకు) ప్రతి వర్గంలో ఐదవ అక్షరం అనునాసికమే.

ఒక్కో అనునాసికం తన వర్గపు ఉచ్చారణ స్థానంలోనే పలకబడుతుంది: ఙ - కంఠం, ఞ - తాలువు, ణ - మూర్ధం, న - దంతాలు, మ - పెదవులు.

Anunasikalu are the consonants spoken with the help of the nose: nga, nya, na (retroflex), na and ma. In each of the five groups (from the ka-group to the pa-group) the fifth letter is a nasal.

Each nasal is spoken at the place of its own group: nga - throat, nya - palate, retroflex na - roof of the mouth, na - teeth, ma - lips.

ఙ: వాఙ్మయం.

ఞ: జ్ఞానం (జ్ఞ = జ్ + ఞ).

ణ: గుణం.

న: నది.

మ: మనసు.

వర్గాక్షరాలు పేజీలోని పట్టికలో ఐదవ వరుసలో ఇవే అక్షరాలు ఉన్నాయి. అనుస్వారం (సున్న) తరువాత వచ్చే హల్లును బట్టి ఈ అనునాసికాల్లో ఒక దానికి దగ్గరి ధ్వనిగా వినిపిస్తుంది (అనుస్వారం, విసర్గ పేజీ చూడండి).

nga: vangmayam.

nya: jnanam (the conjunct jna = j + nya).

retroflex na: gunam.

na: nadi.

ma: manasu.

గమనికలు Notes

ఙ, ఞ అక్షరాలు ఆధునిక తెలుగు రాతలో చాలా తక్కువగా కనిపిస్తాయి; వాటి స్థానంలో సాధారణంగా సున్న రాస్తారు (సరిచూడాలి). ఞ ఎక్కువగా జ్ఞ వంటి సంయుక్తాక్షరాల్లో కనిపిస్తుంది.

The letters nga and nya are seen very little in modern Telugu writing; the sunna is usually written in their place (subject to verification). Nya is seen mostly inside conjuncts such as jna.
