Notes

Whether permission, request and blessing are shades of vidhyartham or separate kinds differs by book (subject to verification); this family has pages on anumatyartham, prarthanarthakam and ashirarthakam. Even without a word like "dayachesi" (please), a form such as "chadavandi" may sound like a command or a polite request, depending on tone.
Full tables of these forms are not given here; this is a textbook-level account.
