Kandam

కందం ఒక జాతి ఛందస్సు; నాలుగు పాదాల పద్యం. ఇది నాలుగు మాత్రల గణాలతో ఏర్పడుతుందని, పాదాల పొడవు సమానంగా ఉండదని చెబుతారు (సరిచూడాలి). తెలుగు కవులు తరచు వాడే పద్య రూపాలలో ఇది ఒకటి.

Kandam is a jati metre, a verse of four lines. It is described as built from ganas of four matras each, with lines of unequal length (subject to verification). It is one of the verse forms Telugu poets use often.

నిర్వచనం Definition

కందం జాతి ఛందస్సులలో ఒకటి. అంటే అక్షరాల ఖచ్చితమైన వరుసను కాక గణాల సంఖ్యను, రకాలను బట్టి దీనిని నిర్వచిస్తారు. పద్యానికి నాలుగు పాదాలు ఉంటాయి; సాంప్రదాయికంగా ఇది నాలుగు మాత్రల గణాలతో ఏర్పడుతుంది, పాదాల పొడవు ఒకదాని తరువాత ఒకటి మారుతూ ఉంటుంది (సరిచూడాలి). గణాల సంఖ్య, యతి, ప్రాస నియమాల పూర్తి వివరాలు ప్రామాణిక ఛందశ్శాస్త్ర పాఠ్యపుస్తకాలలో ఉన్నాయి.

Kandam is one of the jati metres: it is defined not by an exact sequence of syllables but by the number and kinds of ganas. A verse has four lines. Traditionally it is built from ganas of four matras each, and the line lengths alternate (subject to verification). ఉపయోగం Where it is used

కందం తెలుగు కవులు చాలా సాధారణంగా వాడే పద్య రూపాలలో ఒకటి. క్లుప్తంగా, చురుకుగా చెప్పదలచిన విషయాలకు, సంభాషణలకు, కథాగమనానికి కావ్యాలలో దీనిని వాడతారు; అలాగే ఆశువుగా పద్యం చెప్పే అవధాన కవితలో కూడా ఇది తరచు కనిపిస్తుందని సాధారణంగా చెబుతారు (సరిచూడాలి).

Kandam is one of the verse forms Telugu poets use most commonly. In kavyas it is used for matter that is to be said briefly and briskly, for dialogue and for moving the story along, and it is also generally said to be frequent in the extempore verse of avadhanam (subject to verification).
